Revision3 Videocasts Added! Print E-mail
Wednesday, 29 March 2006
ChannelGuide 360 is pleased to announce the addition of the Revision3 line up of IPTV programs to our channel guide. Special thanks to David Prager and the folks that work with him.  We have just listed Ctrl-Alt-Chicken, Diggnation, InDigital and Systm!

These programs have been the driving force behind the IPTV phenomenon.

Ctrl Alt Chicken is a new form of cooking show... one in which the chefs don't know how to cook!  Join Alex Albrecht and Heather Stewart as they attempt a new recipe each episode

Diggnation: Kevin Rose & Alex Albrecht chat about the most dugg stories on digg.com. Kevin and Alex often drink beers and discuss with keen insight the stories that the digg community has chosen as their favorite.

InDigital looks at the latest gadgets and high tech products that define life in the modern world.  Does it work?  Is it worth buying?  We take a look to find ut and have some fun along the way.

Systm
is a downloadable how-to technology show geared towards geeks. Each 15-30 minute video provides in-depth coverage of a single project. If it requires soldering, modding, or reverse engineering, then you'll find it on Systm. Hosted by Kevin Rose and Dan Huard.

Tuesday, 28 March 2006

ChannelGuide 360 is pleased to announce two new programs to our channel guide line up. Remember these are feeds that are designed to work properly with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and your Xbox 360. This site is just not listing any IPTV program it finds. In many cases we work with the IPTV provider to get the video and the RSS feed in a format that works.

Gregory MantellPlease welcome The Gregory Mantell Show.  This television program actually airs in Los Angeles and New York. This program is a weekly program that focuses on experts, the entertainment industry, and health & fitness.

RocketboomAlso welcome a well know web favorite – Rocketboom. This program is a three-minute daily videoblog based in New York City. Amanda Congdon covers and creates a wide range of information and commentary from top news stories to quirky Internet culture. This is a daily show that is updated every morning at 9am EST Monday through Friday!

Update from ChannelGuide 360! Print E-mail
Monday, 27 March 2006

We’re pleased to announce an upgrade to the ChannelGuide 360 site. First off we have updated our channel guide software so now you can see the number of programs per category as well as click on the RSS link to see the video. This feature does require you to use a good browser not Internet Explorer however. Firefox will work fine.

If you’d like to see the video then click on the name of the IPTV program you’re interested in. Then click on the RSS link. Now not all of the feeds support browsing the programs provided so if you get a page full of code—don’t worry. Just press the back arrow in your browser and pick another program. We have added a field to the database that will show you whether or not the link is viewable. So look at that first before you click on the RSS feed link.

As always of course you can copy the feed link into RSS Radio and you can download the programs for playback on your Xbox 360.

There is other good news.

Monday, 20 March 2006

We have adjusted our channel guide organization and content a bit. We are now only going to list IPTV programs that have a valid RSS feed and have been tested with the Xbox 360 via Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. This will eliminate some confusion and provide Xbox 360 users with content that is known to work properly. The Xbox can be picky about the video it sees.

We have now eliminated the content that either represents a single video or doesn’t have a link. An exception is John C. Dvorak's Cranky Geeks program which is a pilot episode. You will need to download this video file manually if you would like to see it.

We’re working on upgrading the cataloging software so it is possible to click on the link directly so that if you have a capable RSS web browser you will be able to see the content. There will be more on this later.

Finally when you enter the guide you are able to see one program that is featured per category of content. If you want to see more--click on the categories to see what else there is to offer. The guide is small now--but will be growing as we grow.

We have also added a new IPTV program to the guide---please welcome Talkin’ Funny with Sasha and the Noob. This is a funny program out of Chicago. The feed is ready so update your RSS Radio with the URL we have provided in the channel guide and start watching IPTV on your Xbox 360!

Finally we are hoping to announce a number of new programs for the guide shortly. Stay tuned.

Do you know of a show we should list? Register with us today and add your own listing to the guide! It is easy you know! Just click on the Register button and create an account. That is all it takes.

Channel Guide 360 Goes Beta! Print E-mail
Wednesday, 15 March 2006

Channel Guide 360s' Mark Manes is pleased to report that Channel Guide 360 has entered the beta phase of its operation. Mark said "It has been a lot of work. Now we need to know if our site is ready and our readers understand what we are offering. Most Xbox 360 sites focus on the gaming aspect of the Xbox 360. Our focus is on the Internet Television possibilities. We intend to collect any and all information related to using the Xbox 360 as a destination for television and movie content."

Mark goes on to say "Our Channel Guide will focus and promote video that is in a format that is suitable for playback on a Xbox 360 through a Windows XP Media Center PC. We honestly think the inclusion of this feature puts Microsoft in the forefront of the delivery of systems capable of being enabled for IPTV applications."

Channel Guide 360 will be a free service offering registered users access to the site's channel guide. The channel guide can grow by user submission and will grow as the staff at ChannelGuide 360 collects appropriate video feeds. Currently the Channel Guide is visible to all guests at the site.

Beta is expected to last for 90 days.
